"Out of the Mist," Kathy Haycock's submission for Arctic Quest.
Marking the 100th anniversary of Amundsen’s navigation through the Northwest Passage, 25 selected Canadian artists followed in the footsteps of great explorers and artists from the past with their exhibition of paintings titled Arctic Quest. Receiving official recognition of International Polar Year, bringing scientists together every 50 years attracting attention to the Polar Regions, artists create works reflecting the changes in Canada’s north.
Arctic Quest was officially launched in January 2005 by Doris McCarthy and astronaut/Arctic photographer Roberta Bondar. "Arctic Quest will create a culturally and historically important body of artwork.”
Major Historical works were on view as part of Arctic Quest.
