Michael Hayes life is devoted to art. Co-owner of the Barber Gallery, he's worked as a picture framer, gallery technician, art consultant, and restorer of art for thirty years. He is most known for his ancient archaeological images, evocative imaginary landscapes, and large abstracts in collections seen throughout the world.

Always enthusiastic and up for something new, Barb has participated in all the "Barber" group shows over the past few years, researching and studying the subject matter we present to artists. She had the award winning recipe in "Yuletide" Ingredients - a show about our love for food where participating artists submitted their favourite time honoured recipes.
Her recent exhibition "Continuum - Homage to Sand, Stone, and Water," continues to July 20th.

Catherine caught my eye weaving her incredible webs in the quiet solitude off the beaten path in the forested back woods and lake land districts of north eastern Ontario. We asked her to weave one of her amazing webs in the big tree in our gallery backyard - our "greenspace." Indonesian artist Bundhowi was part of the Barber "Kedamaian" show - a three continent travelling exhibition initiating at the Barber Gallery in Canada,travelling to Indonesia and now in its third showing in Australia. Creators and conceptualizers of "Kedamaian" an exhibit for peace and compassion are artists Sandra Phillips of Canada, Bundhowi of Indonesia, and Anna Niblic Heggie from Australia. Actor/Director - James Berry -
James is most often seen at our front counter in the gallery assisting our customers and designing a multitude of solutions for framing and art.
He has been an active member, actor, and director with the Guelph Little Theatre for years, and, who could forget his "Barber" role as the Roaming Soothsayer in "Fire in the Head" Shakespeare Edition.

Ian Colin James - World known fly fishing expert and author of Fumbling With a Flyrod - Stories From the River; Ian opened our very first "Fire in the Head" Descendants of the Isles exhibition with his most notable poetry, spoken word and story telling performance. Marking the 100th anniversary of Amundsen’s navigation through the Northwest Passage, 25 selected Canadian artists followed in the footsteps of great explorers and artists from the past with their exhibition of paintings titled Arctic Quest. Receiving official recognition of International Polar Year, bringing scientists together every 50 years attracting attention to the Polar Regions, artists create works reflecting the changes in Canada’s north.
Arctic Quest was officially launched in January 2005 by Doris McCarthy and astronaut/Arctic photographer Roberta Bondar. "Arctic Quest will create a culturally and historically important body of artwork.”

A co-host of C.B.C.'s "Under the Covers" and with her own record label, "M Dead Daisy Records," Emm caught the eye of such international stars as David Bowie and the Cardigans who both invited her to perform with their touring bands. We were honoured to have Emm and her band play at the Barber Gallery Sunday September 7th, 2008, in a gorgeous, relaxed concert with Royal Wood.
A multi-instrumentalist, Royal's music has been featured on several T.V. and movie sound tracks including the HBO series "Regenesis" and CBC series "This is Wonderland." We were honoured to have Royal play in the gallery this summer in a gorgeous concert in the upstairs gallery with Emm Gryner.
We're pleased to welcome Roger with his incredible eclectic time pieces. "Trumpet" everyone, by Roger Wood.
John McCreery has been a regular exhibitor at the Barber Gallery for over 25 years.
